The coated canvas is the house's most popular and iconic look. Both the damier prints and the iconic monogram print are recognised and acknowledged all over the world. You can go anywhere, doesn't matter where, to a small town in Vietnam or a village in Austria, the now utterly French prints will be recognised.

The beautiful flowers, quatrefoils and fleur de lis on the monogram have been classically brown most times, but sometimes have been playfully and colourfully interpreted by contemporary artists.

Did you know there is 118 years between the birth of the first and second Damier prints..... 1888 for Damier Ebene and 2006 for Damier Azur.

One of the reasons why the prints have survived this long, is because the products have lasted so long.... sometimes many decades. By inheriting pieces from your family, the heritage lives on, and new stories are created, through travel, exciting experiences, beautiful get togethers and sometimes exotic locations.

Where is the most obscure place you have spotted an LV? What is YOUR forever piece by the House?

When it comes to Chanel bags there is no more desirable model than the so called ‘sac a rabat’ or flap bag.

The silhouette is timeless and elegant and the bag has always been considered ahead of its time, because of its design and the variety of ways it can be worn. It can be elegant and secure doubled up or casual ‘laissez faire’ Parisian style with the full chain extended.

According to the artisans of yesteryear, the smaller the bag, the finer the leather selected for it. By that yardstick that would make the 9 inch small double flap Chanel’s finest creation and perfect as stylish accompaniment to a romantic dinner.

Enjoy selecting your vintage "must have" piece and make sure you buy it from a reputable source. After all the bag you choose (wisely!) may outlive you and go on telling its beautiful story.

Until we meet again,

The Vintage Edit is arriving on Wednesday 15th September 2021 and is the first installment of vintage pieces from @lovedtogo. The bags are beautiful and we cannot wait to share them with you.

Vintage has become very popular in recent years with collectors romanticising a by gone era and striving to hold on to a piece of history. The true beauty in vintage is the craftsmanship. The saying "they don't make them like they used to" could not be more true when you carefully look over these pieces. They are not just a piece of history but a piece of art created by the true artisans of leather work - a time when consumerism wasn't the end goal but creating a timeless classic was. They were something to be desired, admired and loved.

The items we have come wrapped in a story, their imperfections tell of their nights out and the love stories they have witnessed (if only they could tell us what they have seen). They are made to be loved and ours are ready to go on to their next chapter.

We will be revealing three Chanel beauties on Wednesday, a snapshot of what's to come as we enter the world of vintage.

Until next time,

Lucy
